Budget Negotiation Training for 2025
Most finance professionals walk into budget meetings with spreadsheets full of numbers but no real strategy for the conversation itself. That's where things fall apart. Our upcoming programmes focus on the human side of budget negotiation—the part where you actually get people to say yes.
Which Programme Fits Your Situation?
Different professionals need different approaches. We've built our courses around real situations people face in Australian businesses.
Are you preparing departmental budgets but struggling to get approval?
Our Foundation programme works for department heads and senior managers who need to defend their budget requests more effectively. You'll spend eight weeks learning how to frame budget proposals in ways that resonate with CFOs and executives—not just what you need, but why it matters to the broader business.

The Commercial track is designed around real procurement scenarios. You'll practice handling supplier negotiations, managing contract renewals, and finding savings without damaging relationships. Most participants come from purchasing, operations, or finance roles where they're responsible for vendor relationships.

We run three intakes each year. All programmes are delivered online with live sessions—no pre-recorded lectures. Each cohort is capped at 18 participants so there's actual time for discussion and feedback.
Budget Negotiation Foundation
Eight-week programme covering the essentials of building and defending budget proposals. You'll work through real budget scenarios each week, practicing how to present financial requests in ways that actually persuade decision-makers. Most sessions happen Tuesday and Thursday evenings, AEST.
Commercial Budget Negotiation
Ten-week intensive for professionals handling supplier negotiations and procurement. We focus heavily on practice—you'll negotiate with other participants in realistic scenarios, then break down what worked and what didn't. The group stays small so everyone gets meaningful feedback.
Strategic Budget Leadership
Six-week programme for senior finance leaders managing budget allocation across departments. We focus on the messy reality of competing priorities and limited resources—how to facilitate fair decisions, build support for difficult choices, and communicate budget constraints without killing morale.
